Hoppers Crossing’s binGO MOVE program has been announced as a finalist in the Victorian Public Health Awards.
Run by IPC Health, binGO MOVE is a free and gentle weekly exercise program developed to reduce sedentary activity and is similar to a standard bingo game, however as
each number is called, participants must perform an exercise.
IPC Health chief executive Jayne Nelson said being shortlisted in the Supporting Healthy Populations category was a wonderful recognition for a program that helps older
adults stay active and healthy.
“We want to improve the quality of life for the people and communities we serve by maximising access to health and wellbeing services,” Ms Nelson said.
“Prevention is one of our key strategies and binGO MOVE is a program that helps our clients keep out of hospital or other high-acuity services.”
IPC Health’s binGO MOVE team also recently won the delegate voted People’s Choice Award at the recent Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association (ACRA) Conference.
Wyndham residents can participate by attending IPC Health Hoppers Crossing on Monday or Thursday.
Winners of the Victorian Public Health Awards will be announced at the 16th Victorian Public Healthcare Awards Gala Night.
