Westbourne Grammarians had one of their best performances of the Victorian Amateur Football Association division 3 season but it wasn’t enough against North Brunswick. North Brunswick was able to lead throughout, but the Grammarians kept the score line in check, losing 11.17 (83)-5.9 (39). Nguyen Dang was named the Grammarians best in the loss. The winless Grammarians face Elsternwick this Saturday.

It was a tough day out for the Werribee Centrals in the Geelong District Football League on Saturday. Facing the Geelong West Giants, the Centrals struggled to score as they were beaten, 12.22 (94)-2.3 (15). Chad Buck and Bryce Campbell were the Centrals’ best. The Centrals sit in 10th spot. This Saturday they face Anakie.

NAB League

The Western Jets got a rare win in the NAB League Boys competition on Friday night. The Jets led throughout and had to hold on as the Falcons came late, getting the points 11.5 (71)-10.9 (69). Darcy Weeks and Jake Smith were the Jets best. The Jets sit 10th.

FV

It was a tough day out for Hoppers Crossing in the FV state league 2 north-west competition on Saturday. Facing Mill Park, which is aiming for promotion, the Reds trailed 1-0 at half time. The lead would become 2-0 soon after the break, before two late goals gave Mill Park a 4-0 win. In state league 4 west, Truganina Hornets beat Bell Park, 1-0, while in state league 5 West Point had a 1-1 draw with Balmoral.

WRFL

Point Cook Centrals have locked in coach Dean Chambers for another Western Region Football League season. Chambers in his first season in charge has led the side to an undefeated season so far in division 2. On Saturday, Centrals beat Wyndhamvale, 11.21 (87)-7.10 (52).
