Wyndham needs your nappies

You might have heard of people collecting clothes, blankets or canned foods, but Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten in Werribee are asking residents to donate unused nappies.

The Nappy Collective focuses on acquiring and supplying new and leftover diapers to families in crisis across the nation.

The July campaign will run until the end of the month, and people interested in getting involved can visit Imagine to drop off their donations.

Assistant manager Yvonne Garlando said it was important for the centre to participate and help out the community.

“We understand how hard the last couple of years have been for everyone and if we can help out in anyway then we strive to do that,” she said.

“As an Early Childhood Service and being involved in last year’s collection we were so proud of how much our families and educators participated.

Ms Garlando said the donations will help out hundreds of families struggling to make ends meet, and alleviate some of their stress.

“Especially during a time where the cost of living is getting super expensive this is one less thing a family in need will need to think about,” she said.

From July 18-31, community members can donate new or unused nappies to the centre.
