Wyndham council is inviting local community groups and not-for-profit organisations to apply for grants of up to $15,000 to support activities and events that enrich and support local communities.
Council said it welcomes funding applications for medium grants to support activities and cultural events that improve community life, the health and wellbeing of Wyndham residents and the environment.
The funding aims to help recipients develop and lead innovative projects that will further support and strengthen the Wyndham community in line with council’s Wyndham 2040 Community Vision.
Council hopes the grants will also support Wyndham’s ongoing recovery from the pandemic.
Mayor Peter Maynard said the municipality had a number of strong community groups and organisations that work with the broader community to meet a range of needs.
“We want to help these community groups and organisations grow and thrive,” he said.
“They are often the first point of contact in the suburbs, where friendships are made and where community building begins.”
Cr Maynard said council was seeking applications for project that would provide fun and interactive activities for the community to participate in and projects that will increase the support and care of the community and the environment.
“Over the last year we have funded some great projects, including many aimed at activities and support for local youth, seniors and people experiencing negative impacts of the pandemic,” he said.
“I look forward to seeing further innovative and targeted applications this year.”
Wyndham’s Medium Grant round closes 15 July 2022 at 3pm.
An information session will be held on June 20, at Wyndham Civic Centre, Princess Hwy, Werribee.
