Night market swoops in

Wyndham council will host a FIREFLY Night Market, at Penrose Promenade Park in Tarneit on Saturday, June 25, from 4-9pm.

Junkyard robot puppet M.O.T.I.F! will be in attendance and other attractions include live music, cultural performances, interactive art, food trucks and more.

Staged performances will include Bollywood dancing, African drumming, Brazilian

Samba and a fire show, as well as a decorations of bright neon lights and glowing roving performers.

There’s more than 60 market stalls for residents to explore, from local makers offering gifts, jewellery, art, clothing and locally made sweets.

Food trucks will be on hand with offerings such as aromatic chai, spicy curries and tacos, among other dishes.

Wyndham council creative city portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud said the FIREFLY Night Market was another event in the ‘Meet me in Tarneit’ series of community activities.

“Our community loves a good night market with food trucks and entertainment – I

look forward to seeing our locals in Tarneit enjoy the event but also encourage

residents from across the City to enjoy the evening’s entertainment,” he said.

“It’ll be great to catch up with friends and family, grab a bite and settle in for some

amazing performances, connecting with the community and supporting local

traders.

“I think we’re all glad to put lockdowns behind us and make the most of activities and

events that celebrate the wonderful community we have in Wyndham.”
