Community kitchen cooks up treat

The delicious smell of a rich spaghetti bolognese wafted through the kitchen at the Wyndham Park Community Shed in Werribee on Friday, June 3.

Food store coordinator and chef Christine Mackaness gave step by step instructions to the budding cooks present.

“[The classes] are to introduce healthy cooking that is quick and easy, and how to manage on a budget,“ Ms Mackaness said.

“They did meatballs with a tomato sauce and spaghetti, and then they made an apple crumble and they had that with a lactose free cream, just as a healthier alternative.”

The classes are part of a six week course and anybody interested can reach out for more information.
