Entries have opened for a Q Art Project organised by Wyndham Youth Services.
Young people with a connection to Wyndham can submit a short story, poetry, drawing, comic, painting or photography that explores the expression of sexuality and gender identity.
Wyndham councillor Marcel Mahfoud said all creatives were encouraged to enter.
“The Q Art Project is a great opportunity for young Wyndham creatives between the ages of 12
and 25, whether traditional artists, illustrators, writers or inspiring fashion designers
and make-up artists,” he said.
“Entries can take many forms and can be as creative as you like.”
Council said the project seeks to include young people’s art expression in the community and aims to empower and celebrate Wyndham’s young, diverse community and improve broader community awareness of gender diversity and sexuality.
Successful entries will receive $300 and be included in the Q Art Project; LGBTQIA+ self-expression art book.
The art book will include the selected art expressions of rainbow identifying youth aged 12-25 with a connection to Wyndham.
Entries can be submitted online or in person at the Youth Resource Centre between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday until May 31 2022.
