Wyndham council will soon begin implementing its Seasonal Prescribed Burn Program for Autumn 2022 in open space reserves and rural roadside reserves.
The program will take place across the municipality in Truganina, Point Cook, Werribee, Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes.
Council said on their website that burning is a “necessary” component in the management of native grasslands.
Council also mentioned a number of benefits of the program, saying it promotes healthy, fresh new growth and removes the build up of dry biomass that restricts healthy plant growth.
