WorkSafe is urging construction companies to take part in its OHS Essentials program, which provides independent consultants who give free, confidential and tailored safety advice for small to medium businesses. OHS Essentials consultants can assist businesses to identify hazards and injury risks; provide guidance on creating and maintaining a safe workplace; and work with construction businesses to develop practical safety action plans. The construction industry accounted for about 14 per cent of all accepted injury claims in Victoria in 2021, with WorkSafe taking on 3222 construction claims in the 12 months, details: www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/ohs-essentials-program
