Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson will head up the coaching panel of a Point Cook clinic to be held across two days next week.

Watson – who played 59 tests for Australia and 190 one day internationals – will head the panel at the event, which will be hosted by Shaun Brown’s Cricket Coaching at Saltwater Reserve.

The school holiday clinic will provide participants aged between seven and 16 years old with an insight into 20/20, one day and test format cricket using video analysis and written reports.

Mr Brown said that West Indian ex-test player Kenroy Peters would also feature on the coaching panel.

Mr Brown, who has been a professional cricket coach since 1986, said his company’s summer cricket clinics have been attended by thousands of youngsters across the past 36 years.

“It’s fantastic to be able to involve former test stars to players that normally don’t get that exposure,” he said.

Watson said: “I’m really looking forward to coaching in Point Cook and working with the young players who attend the clinic.”

T20 Stars Cricket Equipment is sponsoring the camp, which will be held on Many and Tuesday from 9am to 3pm each day.

Cost: $159 per participant.
