Hoppers Crossing man charged after rural road fatality

Police have charged a 30-year-old Hoppers Crossing man following a double road fatality in country Victoria in December.

Emergency services were called to the Western Highway following reports two cars had collided head-on near Won Won Dah – Dadswell Bridge Road in Laharum, which is located within the city of Horsham, about 10.15am on December 27.

Two women died as a result of the collision and three others were seriously injured.

Victoria Police announced yesterday that detectives have interviewed and charged a 30-year-old Hoppers Crossing man in relation to the collision.

He has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of reckless conduct engendering life, as well dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He has been bailed, with conditions, to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 13 for a filing hearing.
