Grants and sponsorship program available

A future Wyndham Vale estate has launched a sponsorship and grants program offering funding of up to $10,000 for community organisations.

AVID Property Group, which is developing the 640-lot Savana community, is offering community groups and clubs the chance to apply for a grant.

Applications will close on Thursday, January 13, and successful applicants will be announced in February.

Manor Lakes Football Club was a recipient of last years’ sponsorship.

President Shane White said the funding went towards new sports equipment and jumpers for players.

“We were able to buy 10 new footballs for each of our four teams which have been fantastic for our training sessions and continuing our junior pathway plans,” Mr White said.

“Four new sets of player jumpers were also purchased so that we could proudly identify as one team, which put a spring in the players’ step after wearing jumpers that were well over four years old.

“The sponsorship from AVID helped us stay afloat so we can be recognised as a Club of choice, and we are pleased to announce the expansion of the under 16’s and 18’s sides in 2022, which is a direct result of AVID’s support this year.”

AVID general manager Victoria Peter Vlitas said the sponsorship and grants program was designed to make a difference in the community and support those who need a funding boost.
