Wyndham council’s free Australia Day program on January 26 next year will be held in three local parks, with live music, performances, activities and family fun.

The events will be held at Lollipop Hill Park in Manor Lakes, Longreach Parade Park in Point Cook and Golden Square Reserve Playground in Hoppers Crossing.

Residents are being invited to relax with a picnic on the lawn and enjoy a stage line up celebrating the diverse community.

From African drumming and Bollywood dancing to rap artists, jazz musicians and talented singers, there will be something for everyone.

The Wynnies art competition, a chance to meet native reptiles and food trucks will also be part of the celebrations.

Full program details will be updated here closer to the event.

In its announcement about the Australia Day activities, the council acknowledged the peoples of the Kulin Nation as the first custodians of the lands on which the events will be held.

In line with public health advice, it is a condition of entry to any council facility or event that proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption is required for anyone aged 12 and above.

Council staff will be checking vaccination status for all people entering events.
