Back on November 25, 1981, The Werribee Banner’s (Wyndham Star Weekly’s predecessor) front page story was about Dr Ken Coghill, MLA for Werribee, expressing in the Legislative Assembly his concern at the possibility of radio-active substances being buried at Laverton RAAF base. He said the persons seen burying material were clothed in suits covering themselves from head to toe.
