Book sale on charity’s page

The Werribee Hospital Foundation (WHF) will host a charity book sale later this month.

Funds raised at the sale will go to Werribee Mercy Hospital.

Dedicated WHF volunteers Cheryl and Kathleen have been busy organising the bookstall and collecting donations of books in the lead-up to the two-day event.

Thanks to their efforts, the sale will feature a wide variety of high-quality, pre-loved books.

WHF chief executive Leanne Down said: “When you buy books from this bookstall, you are also helping the foundation to fund a new palliative bed worth $12,000.

“One hundred per cent of sales from this bookstall will go towards this purchase.

“We are so grateful to our volunteers that enable us to reach these outcomes”.

“Over the years these bookstalls have raised over $6000.”

Werribee Hospital Foundation was set up in 1993 as a dedicated foundation to support public hospitals within the Wyndham area.

“Our key focus is generating funds to support and achieve high-quality health care for the community – this sits at the centre of what we do,” Ms Down said.

The book sale will be held on Saturday, November 20 and Sunday, November 21 from 9am to 4pm at 27 Cambridge Crescent, Werribee.

Cost: $2 per book or six books for $10. Please bring correct cash and BYO carry bags.
