A young Wyndham Vale resident is causing happiness to blossom in her community.

Nine year-old Anusha has established a nursery stall and fairy garden outside her family home in the Jubilee estate.

Passersby are welcome to take a potted plant from the stall, and can leave money in an honesty box if they wish to.

Anusha said she did not view her nursery as a business, but rather a way to encourage people to be sustainable and “to cheer everyone up” during lockdown.

“What I enjoy most is seeing people have a smile on their face,” Anusha said.

Her father Taz said he posted about the nursery stall on the Jubilee Residents’ Facebook page, which has led to many people thanking his daughter for her efforts.

One resident, whom Anusha calls Uncle Trevor, even surprised her with a signboard, stickers and personalised t-shirt for the nursery.

“I would like to say thanks to everyone in the Jubilee community who helps and supports me, especially my family who is always there for me and inspires me and gives me ideas for the pots,” Anusha said.
