More than 89 per cent of Wyndham residents aged 15 and above have had their first COVID-19 vaccination.

A total of 48.5 per cent of residents have had two vaccines, according to data from the federal government.

Across the state, 82.3 per cent of Victorians aged 16 and over have now had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

There are presently more than 11,785 active COVID cases in Victoria, with more than 470 people in hospital.

Figures from the Department of Health and Human Services show that 447 residents of the 3029 postcode (Hoppers Crossing, Tarneit and Truganina) have COVID-19.

Three hundred people living in the 3030 area (Werribee, Werribee South and Point Cook) also have the virus, along with 76 residents of the 3024 postcode (Manor Lakes, Wyndham Vale and Mount Cottrell) and 29 people from Williams Landing.

Tarneit MP Sarah Connolly spoke in Parliament last week, saying that she would like to “acknowledge the fantastic efforts made by people in my community over the past weeks to get vaccinated”.

“Let me say how proud I am to see so many young people, especially school students, who are leading the way in getting jabbed,” Ms Connolly said.

“In Tarneit, we’ll soon receive a new school vaccination site at Tarneit Senior College to get school students aged 12 to 18 vaccinated in time for term four.”
