Man charged after explosives located

Police have charged a man following a number of explosions in Hoppers Crossing on Thursday.

Investigators were called to reports of explosions in parklands near Golden Square Crescent between 2.25pm and 4.15pm.

Police found a homemade explosive device that had allegedly been detonated.

Police arrested a Hoppers Crossing man, 20, at the scene a short time later.

He was charged with conduct endangering and explosive offences.
