Residents wanting to stimulate their minds during lockdown can book in for contactless delivery from Wyndham council’s libraries.

Staff from the libraries are delivering books, magazines, DVDs and other items, free of charge, to library members living in Wyndham.

The library employees are working under strict COVID-Safe protocols to provide materials to people unable to travel due to the state government’s pandemic regulations.

All library items can be reserved online or you can request the library staff make a selection, based on your literary or genre preferences.

The library will then deliver the items to your doorstep and recipients will receive an email when their delivery is on its way.

The library items do not have to be returned during stay-at-home restrictions.

Wyndham’s learning city portfolio holder, Cr Jasmine Hill, said the municipality’s libraries were also no longer charging overdue fees.

She said that for residents who did not want to read a book or magazine in the traditional format, there were plenty of options available online.

“If eBooks and audiobooks are your preference, Wyndham libraries offer thousands of titles to download straight to your computer, tablet or phone,” Cr Hill said.

“There are numerous online books, magazines and newspapers awaiting to be read.”

She said the council wanted to hear feedback from residents who use Wyndham’s library services.

“If you have any feedback how council can support you better, we’d love to hear from you.”
