A new kindergarten offering 165 places for children is set to open in Point Cook next year.
Minister for Early Childhood Ingrid Stitt announced today that the two-room modular kindergarten would be constructed at Middleton Road, near Saltwater Reserve.
The kindergarten will include an outdoor play space built from natural materials to support child-led play and sensory exploration.
The state government is now funding the cost of delivering modular kindergartens across the state, under its plans to invest almost $5 billion to deliver 15 hours per week to all Victorian three years olds by 2029.
“We are investing in more infrastructure for the early childhood sector to ensure Victorian families can access more kinder places and better facilities so their children can get the best start in life,” Ms Stitt said.
Altona MP Jill Hennessy said: “This kindergarten is a welcomed new service and facility for our local families and supports the Labor government’s roll-out of three-year-old kinder ─ providing our children with lifelong academic, social and emotional benefits.”
