Judy Teuma is whipping up delicious doggy snacks to fundraise for the RSPCA Victoria this month.
The Wyndham resident runs a business called Judys Doggie Birthday Cakes And Treats through Facebook, making dog-friendly baked goods for canines.
Miss Teuma said she will donate the money she raises from orders placed during August to the RSPCA.
She is also planning to make about 50 cupcakes for the dogs at the RSPCA’s Epping headquarters on August 16.
On this date, RSPCA Victoria is encouraging people around the state to celebrate its annual Cupcake Day.
The sweet fundraising event usually raises about $230,000 annually to help care for the 20,000 animals which enter RSPCA shelters every year.
This year, participants are being encouraged to have Zoom bake-offs with friends, family and colleagues.
Miss Teuma said she began baking doggy cakes after deciding to make one for her eight year-old staffy, Rocky.
She taught herself, using a recipe from the internet, which led to her experimenting to come up with her own range of dog cakes and treats.
Miss Teuma said she especially enjoys making her bowl cakes, which are shaped like dog bowls with treats inside them.
Rocky also helps by taste-testing Miss Teuma’s creations.
“He licks the bowl all the time,” she said.
