Al-Taqwa College in Truganina will close, and all students and staff will be instructed to get tested and isolate until further notice, after a teacher from the school tested positive to COVID-19.

The Department of Health announced this afternoon that the case is under investigation and household contacts of the case “are being urgently tested”.

“The department will support the school community in partnership with Western Public Health Unit,” the department said in a statement this afternoon.

“Transmission risks at the school are being assessed.”

The school teacher is isolating and being interviewed.

Exposure sites, when confirmed, will be posted online at www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/exposure-sites.
