An architect has been appointed to design a $6.2 million upgrade of Alamanda K-9 College in Point Cook.

Altona MP Jill Hennessy MP announced today that Brand Architects (John Brand & Co. Pty Ltd) has been appointed to the project, which will involve construction of a new to allow for increased capacity of the school and reduce the need for temporary, relocatable buildings.

“We’re making sure that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers and that every child is given every chance to succeed,” Ms Hennessy said.

“Point Cook families are a step closer to even better local school facilities that will support their kids to thrive.”

The state government has also released construction tenders for 10 of 13 new schools being built across Victoria as part of a $491.6 million investment.

Two of these schools will be constructed in Wyndham.

Holyoake Primary School, in Manor Lakes, and Lollypop Creek Primary School, in Werribee, will be re-named before they open in 2026.

Werribee MP Tim Pallas today said he looked forward to securing builders for the new schools.

Mr Pallas also announced that Searle x Waldron Architecture has been appointed to design and deliver a new $200,000 outdoor inclusive learning space, including new play equipment and synthetic turf, at Warringa Park School.

The funding for the upgrade comes from the state government’s $10 million Inclusive Schools Fund.

“This new space will make a real difference to students at Warringa Park School, who will get the benefits of new inclusive spaces to cater for a wider range of options for teaching and learning,” Mr Pallas said.

“As we build the Education State, we’re continuing to invest in schools to ensure students of all abilities can access a great education – no matter their circumstances.”
