Police have charged a man following a pursuit by the AirWing in Wyndham last night.
Officers spotted an allegedly stolen Hyundai Elantra sedan travelling on Duncans Road and attempted to intercept it about 3.15pm, before it drove away.
Police then responded to a triple-0 call about suspicious loitering and located a man with the car parked on Duncans Road about 9.20pm.
The man allegedly fled in the car and was pursued by police, with assistance from the AirWing, through Point Cook and Laverton.
Officers arrested the man after he allegedly abandoned the car and ran into the rear yard of a house on Duncans Road, Werribee.
Police allege the car was stolen in a carjacking incident in Werribee on June 5.
A 22-year-old Wyndham Vale man has been charged with carjacking, dangerous driving, reckless conduct endanger life, unlicenced driving, drug driving offences, drug possession, weapon offences, theft and unlawful assault.
He was also issued with a penalty notice for being more than 10 kilometres from home, under the chief health officer’s directions.
He was remanded overnight and will appear at the Werribee Magistrates Court today.
