Phebe Yeo is organising two Mother’s Preloved Markets to be held later this month in Truganina.
Ms Yeo, a Point Cook resident who runs cultural community learning service 8SENSES, said she was holding the markets to help connect local mothers.
The markets will run on Saturday, May 22 and Saturday, May 29 at the Mainview Boulevard Family Learning Centre.
Mums will be able to sell preloved goods, such as clothes, accessories, shoes, books, bags, toys and bed linen at the events, which will be split into two sections for sellers, from 1-2.30pm and 3-4.30pm.
It will cost a gold coin donation to participate.
“It’s a community event, not a commercial objective,” Ms Yeo said.
“The objective is to bring mothers out into this community centre, to get to know the community centre – which opened its doors this year – and each other.
“Basically, you may not be a seller but you can be a buyer or just come to see the community centre.
“You can chat with whoever is at the market and get to know each other.”
Ms Yeo said she will be selling crafts and materials for children, including foam stickers for collage art and wooden bunny masks for youngsters to decorate.
She will also run a Special Treats in May event for mums with babies aged 12 months and under every Thursday this month, from 1-2.30pm at the Saltwater Community Centre in Point Cook.
The sessions, sponsored The Coffee Club Point Cook, will include lucky draw vouchers, games, craft and Rhyme Time with babies.
Bookings are required for both the Mother’s Preloved Markets and Special Treats in May, contact Ms Yeo on 0425 338 832.
