A Truganina resident says he is disturbed by rubbish which is being regularly dumped along Forsyth Road.

David (who asked for his surname to be withheld) said that the waste, which often includes bags containing dirty nappies, is dumped near Arndell Estate’s entrance on weekends.

David said the rubbish, which is left scattered along Forsyth Road for about 500 metres appears “every Sunday morning like clockwork”.

“It’s very disappointing to see that somebody, or multiple people in the neighbourhood, have no civic pride,” he said.

“Each week the council comes to clean up the mess, and each week it reappears Sunday morning.”

David he was pleased with Wyndham council’s efforts to clean up the rubbish and investigate its source.

He encouraged other residents or business owners who witnessed the littering, or captured any footage of it on their dashcam or CCTV, to contact the council.

Wyndham council’s director of city operations, Stephen Thorpe, said the council’s local laws officers “have received information regarding litter on Forsyth Road”.

“Cameras are one of the many tools that our officers can use to help identify people littering and we currently have two cameras in place along Forsyth Road,” Mr Thorpe said.

“Illegal litter dumping is a complex community problem across many municipalities in Victoria, and Wyndham has adopted a number of methods to try and reduce the amount of dumped litter.

“We have dedicated waste education officers who aim to educate the community about their options for removing waste, and we offer three hard rubbish collections per household, per year.”

Mr Thorpe said residents could report illegal rubbish dumping by calling 1300 023 411.
