Putting Zumba fun into Truganina fundraiser

Hoppers Crossing’s Melissa Molina is throwing a party in a bid to raise money for cancer research.

The Zumba instructor will host ‘Party in Pink’ at Truganina YMCA Learning Centre on Saturday, October 25, to raise money for a global Zumba grant to fund research into breast cancer prevention.

Ms Molina says the fundraiser is a fun way to raise money to help the fight against one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among women.

It will be the second time Ms Molina has held an event for the Zumba research grant.

She said this year’s event was even more important to her because a family friend had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and was going through chemotherapy.

She’s expecting about 100 people to take part this year.

“It will be a fun day. It’s a two-hour class, with face-painting, and I’ve had donations from businesses for a raffle,” Ms Molina said.

Party in Pink is from 9-11am on October 25. Tickets cost $10.
