The West End Experience will return for residents to enjoy over the long weekend.

The western end of Watton Street in Werribee will again be transformed into a pop-up dining precinct for the Wyndham council initiative.

Fifteen different restaurants, cafes and bars will provide attendees with a variety outdoor dining options.

From March 5 – 8, visitors will be able to enjoy long lunches and alfresco dining under the stars.

Wyndham’s creative city portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud, said the state government has provided funding to help with the event, while business and property owner associations have also provided support.

The upcoming West End Experience event follows the success of the first two events, of the same name, which were also held in Werribee.

“The West End Experience has proved very popular,” Cr Mahfoud said.

“Even with social distancing we had over 2300 attend the first event in December and over 1600 attend the second event in January,” Cr Mahfoud said.

“This event is another strategic example of delivering on the Wyndham 2040 Vision where the community told us they wanted a safe, vibrant evening economy that supports local jobs.

“We are also thrilled that this long weekend event has come around now, many businesses were hit hard by the last-minute cancellation of the February West End Experience event due to the five-day lockdown.

“So, having four full days to have people come down and support them has them looking forward to the long weekend.”

Some of the activities that were planned for February’s event have been rolled over to the March event.

“The Piano Bar has been extended, so you will be able to enjoy some amazing tunes under the stars and there will be a free family movie night to watch the Trolls World Tour,” Cr Mahfoud added.

Each venue participating in the West End Experience will have their own outdoor seating area available for bookings with a smaller area for walk-up dining.

QR Code check-ins will be in place to ensure everyone’s safety.

The West End Experience will run on Friday, March 5 from 5-11pm, Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7 from 11am-11pm and Monday, March 8 from 11am-9pm.
