The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of us to spend more time alone with our own thoughts than ever before. Silence, uncertainty and a lack of social interaction can all contribute to our inner voice dominating our thoughts.

This highlights the importance of self-care; the little things we can do to care for our health and wellbeing and, sometimes, help tame the critic within.

In response to this, the Wyndham Learning Festival’s signature online event will feature a focus on ‘Finding Your Voice’ with Clare Bowditch.

Clare is an ARIA award-winning musician, educator, actress, storyteller, business owner, partner, mother of three and a national bestselling author.

During this fun, confidence-boosting, empowering and interactive event, Clare will share stories from her own life, sing, and answer questions.

She has explored the notion of the inner voice and the stories we tell ourselves in great depth. In her memoir, Your Own Kind of Girl, and podcast series Tame Your Inner Critic, Clare draws on her own experiences and struggles with an often critical inner voice and the various ways she has overcome this, both in her personal life and her career.

This free event will take place at 2pm on Sunday, November 29.

The annual Wyndham Learning Festival will run November 23-30.

In response to the ongoing government restrictions and requirements around physical distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s festival will be an entirely virtual experience to ensure the safety of all community members.

A whole-community event, the festival promotes lifelong learning and provides free learning opportunities for all ages and interests. The festival is run by Wyndham Community and Education Centre in partnership with Wyndham City Council.
