Wydham’s COVID-19 active cases reach 460

The number of active coronavirus cases diagnosed in Wyndham residents has increased to 460 today, compared to 439 active cases yesterday.

Wyndham remains at the top of the Victorian municipal coronavirus tally, followed by Brimbank with 436 active cases and Hume with 343 active cases.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), a total of 44 virus cases have been linked to the Glendale Aged Care facility in Werribee.

Three cases have been linked Diamond Valley Pork in Laverton North.

Cases have also been identified at Tarneit Senior College, but the DHHS did not say how many cases have been linked to the school.

Across the state, there has been 300 new cases of coronavirus recorded since yesterday, with the total number of cases in now at 7405.

The overall total has increased by 280 due to 20 cases being reclassified – largely due to duplication.

Within Victoria, 51 of the new cases are linked to known outbreaks or complex cases and 249 are under investigation.

There have been seven new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday.

Those who have died include were two men and two women aged in their 80s, and two men and one woman aged in their 90s. Five of the deaths are linked to aged care facilities. To date, 56 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.

As of today, 206 people with the virus are in the state’s hospitals, including 41 patients in intensive care.

Overall, 3450 Victorians have recovered from the virus.
