Victorian police have issued more than 100 fines to people for breaching pandemic restrictions in the past 24 hours, including a Wyndham man who was not wearing a mask in public.
A Victoria Police statement said the man refused to wear a mask, even after police officers provided him with one.
Fifteen other people across Victoria’s lockdown areas have been fined for failing to wear a face-covering when leaving home, for one of the four approved reasons set out by the state government.
Some of the other reasons provided to police, by people for failing to wear a mask, have included:
-A man who refused to wear a mask and said he wouldn’t be in the future as the rules don’t apply to him.
-A man who believed coronavirus was a conspiracy theory.
A man has also been issued with a fine for travelling from Laverton to Mordialloc to buy cigarettes.
