Wyndham records 26 new COVID cases

Twenty-six new cases of the coronavirus have been diagnosed in Wyndham residents today.

Overall, 86 active cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in residents of the municipality (compared to 60 active cases yesterday).

The only Victorian municipality to have more active cases than Wyndham is Hume, in Melbourne’s north-west. Hume has 124 active cases of the virus (compared to 100 yesterday).

The total number of coronavirus cases in the state has reached 2660, with 127 new cases reported since yesterday.

Thirty-four new cases have linked to known outbreaks, 40 new cases have been identified through routine testing and 53 cases are under investigation.

There have been two new deaths reported since yesterday. A man in his 90s passed away in hospital yesterday and another man in his 60s passed away in hospital this morning.

Today, 14 new cases of the virus have been linked to the outbreak at Al-Taqwa College in Truganina. The total number of cases linked to the school’s outbreak has reached 77.

In addition, one new COVID-19 case has been linked to the Truganina family outbreak. A total of 16 cases have now been linked to this outbreak.
