The doors have reopened at Hoppers Club, with the team welcoming diners back to the bistro to enjoy their favourite meals every night between 5.30-7.30pm.
Chief executive officer Michael Lewis says the number one priority remains the safety of patrons, staff and the community, so dining in may be a little bit different for a while.
“We are following all government social distancing guidelines and hygiene requirements,” Michael says.
“We have set seatings with limited capacities for each, so make sure you book ahead to get a spot.”
If you’ve been enjoying choosing from the takeaway menu during COVID-19 isolation restrictions, you still can, with pick-up service still offered from 5pm and Uber Eats now available for delivery.
Head chef Sid Haldikar says for those who have been missing the Sunday night carvery, the roast of the day with all the delicious trimmings, will hit the spot.
“Our takeaway menu covers all the favourites, from burgers and chicken parma to heartier winter warmers such as lamb shanks, butter chicken and lasagne,” Sid says.
“And keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for specials.”
The menu also has a range of entrees and sides if you feel like a bit extra, and a good choice for the kids.
“We are excited to see many friendly faces back at our tables this week and want to thank everyone who has continued to support us over the past few months,” Michael says.
The club’s motto of ‘Not just a club but a community’ is supported by a solid commitment to helping those in need.
Hoppers Club has a range of sporting and social sub-clubs and it supports many charities, events and good causes throughout each year.
Recently, the club donated $2000 to Backpacks for VIC Kids, a charity that provides backpacks to children in foster care and kinship care.
The donation helped the charity to purchase about 50 backpacks, which are filled with items such as toiletries, clothing, sleepwear, a torch, blanket and a toy or activity.
Hoppers Club members and representatives from Backpacks 4 VIC Kids last week presented the backpacks to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Footscray.
