A man wearing a surgical mask entered a Hoppers Crossing supermarket and produced a knife during an attempted armed robbery this morning.
Detectives from Altona North Embona are investigating the incident, which occurred at a supermarket on Deloraine Drive shortly after 7am.
After producing the weapon, the offender demanded cash. But he left empty-handed on a pushbike, south towards Gateway Lane.
