Werribee Outdoor Pool has become the first stand-alone seasonal outdoor aquatic facility in the state to achieve Life Saving Victoria’s Platinum Pool accreditation.
The pool was awarded the LSV’s highest rating after undergoing an assessment of its aquatic safety and risk management, earlier this year.
AquaPulse and Werribee Outdoor Pool general manager Barry Harrison said that pool staff had worked hard, in partnership with Wyndham council, to ensure the pool was inviting and accessible to the community.
“Our team is proud of the facility and works hard to ensure it is presented in the best and safest way possible,” he said.
“It’s important that the community feels safe and well-supervised when at the pool, and achieving Platinum Pool status underlines our efforts to ensure this security.
“Becoming the first stand-alone seasonal outdoor aquatic facility in Victoria to do this is an outstanding endorsement of the positive environment that has been created.
“We are very proud to be raising the bar and leading the way in achieving excellence in the provision of seasonal aquatic recreation.”
The Werribee Outdoor Pool is home to an eight-lane 50-metre heated pool, a heated leisure pool with water play features and a learn to swim area, shaded areas, an outdoor barbecue and kiosk.
