Support local, love the west
We’re loving the west more than ever. Despite being in lockdown, we’re discovering new and exciting things the place we call home has to offer.
Here’s some more places in your neighbourhood you can enjoy at home, recommended by Western Melbourne Tourism.
Mama Lor, Werribee
Recently opened, this family-run Filipino Restaurant offers a variety of traditional Filipino dishes available for takeaway, as well as their own recipe of high-quality bread and cakes that are definitely worth a try.
Spreading the community love, the Mama Lor team has set up a fundraiser to support international students who are struggling, and providing them with food packs.

Combining a love of plants with a love of great food. Unfortunately the Feasting Shed Café is closed (for now). However, the nursery is open and well stocked with plants to get you inspired for growing from home.

The Victoria State Rose Garden, Werribee
If you live close by you can still get out and smell the roses!
Parks Vic has arranged for the Victoria State Rose Garden to remain open for exercise. (The gazebo in the rose garden, toilets, barbecue area, Mansion and formal gardens are all closed due to COVID-19 restrictions). Car park closes strictly at 4.30pm.
Waterstone Café, Point Cook
Waterstone Cafe in Point Cook is selling boredom buster kids packs. Kids get a ball of dough, along with toppings to make their own pizza, and while it’s cooking they can get stuck into a word search and colouring in. Yummo! Pre-order by calling 9395 7800.
