Trio arrested following Point Cook aggravated burglary

Police have charged three men following an aggravated burglary and the theft of a motor car in Point Cook on the weekend.

The aggravated burglary took place in Middleton Drive, when three men entered the garage of a house and allegedly stole a Honda Civic sedan just after 11.30am on Saturday.

A short time later, police observed the stolen car driving in the nearby vicinity and followed it to Cinel Court in Truganina.

The three occupants exited the car and ran into an address in the court. Police entered the property and arrested the three men, and two other men who were also inside the premises.

Two men, aged 19 years old and from Point Cook, and a 20-year-old Truganina man, have been charged with aggravated burglary and theft of a motor car.

They were remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

One of the occupants of the Cinel Court premises, a 22-year-old man, has been charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest. He has been bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on August 13.

A fifth man, from the Cinel Court address, has been exonerated.
