Recipe for support

Point Cook’s Wayne Mott and Tom Walsh have contributed a delicious recipe to a free new ebook, which is being published to raise awareness of national children’s cancer charity, Redkite.
Mr Walsh and Mr Mott are familiar faces to many Australians, starring in the television show Gogglebox. Mr Walsh is also a presenter on JOY 94.9FM.
Mr Mott and Mr Walsh have supplied their recipe for a “Bumped-Up B.L.T” to an ebook called For the Love of Bread, which recognises the partnership Redkite has with Coles.
Five cents from the sale of each specially-marked loaf of Coles Own Brand bread is donated to Redkite.
Mr Walsh and Mr Mott said they were thrilled to contribute a recipe to the ebook, after Mr Mott was diagnosed with lymphoma seven years ago.
Luckily, he had a lump under his arm removed before it had a chance to develop into anything further
“As fathers of three who have ridden the cancer wave ourselves, we’re proud to be a part of this project to show other families out there that they aren’t alone when facing their child’s cancer diagnosis,” Mr Walsh said.
“We want people to feel as though they can reach out, as there are always people who are willing to listen and help.
“It’s great to be able to show our support through this eBook and know that we’re helping Redkite help others.”
The couple said they often shopped at the two Coles stores in Point Cook, where they are sometimes recognised by fans.
“Point Cook is a very friendly area, and everyone says ‘hi’ to each other, but we love getting stopped for selfies from all the Gogglebox Australia fans,” Mr Walsh said.
