Hoppers Crossing will this month play host to a bone-crunching wrestling event with charity at its heart.
Platinum Wrestling Enterprises is putting on a show at My Gym on November 28 to raise money for the Movember Foundation. The event will feature about 15 wrestlers, including Wyndham’s Tass Tokatlidis.
Tokatlidis, whose ring name is Alexi Papadopoulous, said the two-hour show would raise money to help improve the lives of men affected by prostate and testicular cancer and mental health problems.
“We wanted to do something special and thought it would be appropriate to raise money for men’s health given that it was Movember,” he said.
Mr Tokatlidis, who has been wrestling for about 12 years, said there was a busy wrestling market in Victoria.
“I’ve been a fan since I was a little kid watching World Wrestling Entertainment and World Championship Wrestling throughout the ’90s,” he said.
“I enjoy going out there performing for an audience who appreciate the sport and entertainment of it all.”
