Camping out to secure block at Truganina’s Elements estate

Marcelle Vella and David Cardona would have done anything to secure their dream block of land in Truganina, including spending five nights sleeping in a campervan.

The couple parked their rented campervan at Truganina’s Elements estate last Monday night in the hope of buying a block of land when the first lots went on sale on Saturday.

The estate, which borders Dohertys and Woods roads, is being developed by ID_Land and will feature 1600 houses and 16 hectares of waterways, wetlands and landscaped open space. Skeleton and Forsyth creeks run through the estate.

There are also plans for a prep-year 9 Catholic school and a town centre featuring a supermarket and 15 specialty stores.

Stage one’s creekside release features 31 blocks which are within walking distance to the waterways and Tarneit railway station.

After securing his preferred block, Mr Cardona said he had been searching for a block of land for a while but had struggled to find one that met his family’s needs until he discovered Elements.

“We have four kids so one of the most exciting things our family is looking forward to is the extra room our dream block will provide.”

ID_Land Development director Oscar Stanley said Elements had been designed with every family in mind.

“In designing the community’s masterplan, it was important for us to deliver amenity for the whole family – things like active playgrounds and a future school for children, cycling tracks, a shopping centre and picnic areas for family needs, through to passive outdoor spaces and walking paths for older couples and retirees,” he said.
