Service sparks award

A Wyndham businessman has been recognised with a national award.

Andrew Stubbs, from Battery World Hoppers Crossing, received the Roadside Excellence and Initiative award at Battery World’s recent annual excellence awards night.

Mr Stubbs was presented with his award in front of more than 200 Battery World franchisees, management and suppliers.

Out of 110 stores across the nation, Mr Stubbs was recognised for answering the call of local motorists with flat batteries.

“No one is happy when their battery dies,” he said.

“More often than not it is at the worst possible time – you are doing school drop-off, about to leave a shopping centre or running late for a meeting.

“Coming into summer, we want to remind the community, while cold weather can put a battery into a death throe the heat can kill them off, so we offer free battery health checks.

“Generally, a battery only lasts four years and time can get away from us before we realise it, you are stuck, and the car won’t start.

“And while I am very happy to come to your rescue when you breakdown, if you think your battery has been compromised or is getting old, call in and see us for that peace of mind, then you won’t need me.”
