Point Cook: Arrest over beheading of animals at Carranballac College

Two teenagers have been arrested over the beheading of farm animals at Carranballac College in Point Cook.

On the evening of October 1, three chickens and one duck were killed.

Police believed two men broke into the school enclosure and beheaded the animals about 9pm.

Staff and students were shocked to find the animal remains the following morning.

On Sunday afternoon, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were interviewed by detectives and released pending further enquiries.

It’s understood students at the Jamieson Way campus were involved in the care and feeding of the animals.

In a school newsletter, Carranballac College director Peter Kearney said the school community had been “saddened” by the attack.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000.
