Bellbridge kept its perfect record intact with a comfortable 57-run win over Caroline Springs in the Williamstown and District Cricket Association A turf at Heathdale College Oval on Saturday.
The Bridge made an imposing 6-170 from 35 overs, with import wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Downie leading the way with 40 and meaningful contributions coming from Martin Ritchie (34), Josh Webb (34no) and Matthew Edsall (26).
The Springs were on the back foot early, losing 3-7 before a 56-run fourth-wicket stand between Dave Martin (55) and captain Troy Blackman (22) breathed life into the chase.
The Bridge steadied to have the hosts all out for 113. The Bridge collected its fourth win in a row on the back of strong bowling performances from Jake Styles (3-33) and skipper Andrew Wilks (3-30).
Bellbridge can further extend its lead at the top of the ladder when it battles winless Gellibrand at Mossfield Reserve in a two-dayer starting on Saturday.
