Man arrested after $36,000 in thefts

Police have arrested a Point Cook man and charged him with stealing products worth a total of $36,000 from JB Hi-Fi stores in the west.

Members of the Wyndham Criminal Investigation Unit have arrested the 20-year-old man, after a series of thefts from a JB Hi-Fi stores in Hoppers Crossing, Altona North and Sunshine.

Detective Sergeant Adam Radley said: “We have worked tirelessly with the community to make this breakthrough, arresting a 20-year-old from Point Cook earlier in the week.”

“He has been remanded and charged with stealing products/phones from JB Hi Fi stores totalling $36,000.

“This brand of offending is disgraceful and wont be tolerated. We’ll do all we can to make sure offenders are held to account.”
