Pupils at Tarneit P-9 College were tickled pink with last Friday’s fundraising efforts for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The school’s Go Pink fundraising day raised more than $1000 for the charity.
Students wore a splash of pink as part of the national Go Pink campaign, in the first week of June, which supports thousands of women and their loved ones affected by breast cancer.
Co-ordinating teacher Chris Page said the fundraiser was an opportunity for the youngsters to put their leadership skills into practice.
“As part of this fundraiser, our Student Leadership representatives from years two to eight collaborated to research about National Breast Cancer Foundation and the idea of “Go Pink” to create a presentation in which they presented to their class to engage their peers in the charity,” Mr Page said.
“Students also spent time creating posters to display around the school to promote the day.”
Students sold wristbands and ribbons on the day. Donations can still be made online.
