ShadowFax winery has received a $25,000 boost to support exports and sustainability.
The Wine Growth Fund grant is part of a program to help winery growth, increase visitors, boost exports and local jobs.
Werribee MP Tim Pallas said he was “thrilled” to announce the boost for ShadowFax, as part of the program’s third round of funding.
“The program provides Wyndham’s best winemakers with the support to grow their businesses and boost visitors to our beautiful wine regions,” Mr Pallas said.
“Victorian winemakers produce some fantastic wines and we’re proud to back this industry.”
ShadowFax general manager Phil Strachan said the money would go towards the winery’s exports plan and its composter and closed loop system project to develop sustainable farming practices.
The Wine Growth Fund helps wineries with projects such as cellar door, kitchen and cafe upgrades; wine production facilities; e-commerce programs; accommodation initiatives and vineyard improvements.
The first two rounds of the Wine Growth Fund supported 106 projects in the state’s wine industry, which is worth $7.6 billion to the Victorian economy and employs about 13,000 people, mostly in regional areas.
