Cash win for Kyneton mum

A Kyneton mum is all smiles after discovering she is $25,000 richer.

The lottery winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has her mother-in-law to thank for gifting her with a $2 instant scratch-it ticket purchased from Lansell Lucky Lotto in Kangaroo Flat.

“I got three tickets and I’d scratched the first two and I won $5 on those, and then I scratched the winning ticket and I just thought ‘no way, that can’t be right’,” she told Tatts officials.

“We were in shock, as you can imagine. We thought there must be a catch to it.

“These types of things don’t happen to me … it’s not every day you win $25,000.

“My mother-in-law was ecstatic for us. She always buys tickets for us so she was glad someone in the family won something big.”

The woman is planning on splurging her money on a new car.

Lansell Lucky Lotto co-owner Yomi Shah said he was thrilled to discover one of his customers had become $25,000 richer.

“We are really excited about it – congratulations to them,” he said.

Mr Shah said it was the first time he had sold a major prize-winning ticket.

“This is the first top prize-winning ticket we have sold since we took over three years ago,” he said.

“We are feeling lucky now.”
