Park turns on its party face

All things Bollywood will be at the Point Cook Pop Up Park at the weekend.

The park will host Bolly Holi, which has been billed as a “fun, colourful, fusion event for everyone” to mark the traditional Hindu festival of Holi.

One of the park’s joint project leads, Susan McIntyre, said Boli Holly would include Bollywood dancers, rangoli (an art form in which colourful patterns are created on the floor) and a Bollywood-themed photo booth.

Ms McIntyre said residents from all cultures and ethnicities were welcome.

The day will include a rangoli competition between 10.30am and 1pm, a Bollywood fashion show between 11am and 1pm and a Bollywood dance performance and workshop at 2.30pm.

Between 3-7pm, a Bollywood DJ mix will be played, followed by a showing of the film Bend it Like Beckham from 7pm.

The pop up park is in Murnong Street.
