Have you got an old television, bicycle or unwanted furniture taking up space?
If it’s time to clear out the clutter, make sure to mark Wyndham council’s Pop Up Drive-Thru Recycling Day in your calendar.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 8am to 1.30pm at the Wootten Road Reserve, Tarneit.
Residents will be able to take up to 15 household items – including microwaves, televisions, computers, kettles, fax machines, furniture, bikes, barbecues and bulky cardboard – and drop them off to be recycled.
Wyndham’s environment and sustainability portfolio holder, Cr Heather Marcus said: “While the environmental benefits of this event are plain to see, the best part in my opinion is that any items that aren’t recycled are donated to great organisations like West Welcome Wagon and the local Men’s Shed,” Cr Marcus said.
Items that will not be accepted on the day include crockery, clothing, green waste, white good, wheels, tyres, mattresses, asbestos, construction waste, chemicals, biological waste, sharps, broken monitors, fluorescent tubes and smoke detectors.
The Pop Up Drive-Thru Recycling Day is free for Wyndham residents, a driver’s licence or rates notice is required for identification. See www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/greenlivingseries to register for the event.
