Movie night

Rhythms of Africa
Bringing together a magic mix of warm summer nights, African beats and picnics on the grass, the summer concert series is on every Saturday until February 28 at Werribee Open Range Zoo, K Road, Werribee South, from 4.30-8.30pm. Adults $30.80, under-16s free, including zoo entry.
Urban markets
Pack a picnic and get down to Synnot Street’s Kelly Park on February 14 for the Urban Markets, from 4-9pm. Features music, food and market stalls.
Fruit trees
Expert horticulturist Craig Castree will be at Werribee Park heritage orchard at K Road, Werribee South, from 9.45am every Friday until March 27 to give you hints on grafting, pruning and fungal control. Bring a hat, sunscreen and secateurs. Enter by gate 2 and follow the signs.

Backyard chooks
Pick up tips on keeping backyard chooks at a workshop at Eco Living Centre, 28 Ridge Drive, Wyndham Vale, 10am-noon on March 14. Covers council bylaws, backyard benefits, food and tips on reducing odours.

Country music
Come and join the king and queen of country music, Lee Kernaghan and Kasey Chambers, at Werribee Park on February 22, for Live on the Lawn. The icons of Australia’s country music scene will be there, including Adam Brand, Morgan Evans and Melbourne’s own Deep Creek Road. Tickets from Ticketmaster are $84.50. Children under 12 are admitted free.
Maltese classes
Learn Maltese at Kelly Park Community Centre, 6.30-8.30pm, every Monday. There are classes for adult beginners as well as younger people.
